Exciting news folks. Due to the popularity and demand for my afterschool classes at Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh I have decided to add an additional class on a Tuesday at Galway Steiner NS. I hope this will be the beginnings of a positive relationship with the school in delivering art programmes at their premises.
Delighted to once again be involved in the Tipperary Festival of Science. This year I was at a new venue in St Patrick's College MIC Thurles. What a fabulous building and wonderful day. Thanks to Maeve Liston (MIC) and my wonderful assistant Michele for helping to make the day such a success. Here are a few of the eerie mobile phone pinhole photos we took on the day.
Honoured to have been asked to judge this competition for this club in Oranmore, Co. Galway. Very enjoyable evening and lovely meeting all the members.
This FREE FAMILY EVENT will be delivered by Artist Teacher Dee Deegan of Galway Art Academy. Artists throughout history have used science to learn about the world around them and to make art. Dee will show how important science is in her work as an artist by showing examples of her Pinhole Camera and Camera Obscura images as well as talking about how science allows her to create images as a printmaker. The presentation will also highlight the vital role that maths and engineering played in her most recent artwork where she designed a bookcase in the shape of an arch/bridge. Dee will then guide participants through a fun engineering challenge to build Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridge. This event is suitable for parents to attend with their children (recommended age 7yrs+). This is a FREE event but places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
